About The Design
My Future Is Certain — But It's Not In The Cards
People have always wanted to know what comes next.
We look for signs. We search for patterns. We listen to predictions. Throughout history, people have turned to fortune-tellers, astrology, cards, idols, and countless other things hoping to discover what tomorrow holds.
But in Isaiah 41:21–24, God issues a challenge to the false gods: tell us what has happened. Declare what is going to happen. Show us what is coming so that we may know that you are gods.
They cannot.
Why trust your future to something that cannot know it?
That is the truth behind this design: MY FUTURE IS CERTAIN — BUT IT'S NOT IN THE CARDS.
That doesn't mean I know what will happen tomorrow. I don't. It means I know the One who does.
And for the Christian, there is an even greater reason for confidence: the God who holds my future is my Father.
Not because I have earned a place in His family, but because Jesus Christ made a way for me to belong to Him. Jesus took my sin upon Himself at the cross, died in my place, and rose again. Through faith in Christ, I am forgiven, reconciled to God, and brought into His family.
So my confidence about the future is not simply that God knows what will happen. It is that through Jesus Christ, I know the God who knows what will happen.
I don't need the cards to tell me whether everything will turn out the way I want. Scripture never promises me that. I have something better. I know that whatever tomorrow brings, I belong to Christ. My sins are forgiven. My life is in His hands. And even death does not get the final word.
That is why my future is certain.
