The Maker's Mark Journal
What kind of mark is your life leaving?
The Maker’s Mark Journal is a four-month guided Christian journal for men, created by pastor Matt Hines of 57 Ways to Sunday. Through Scripture, honest reflection, prayer, and practical obedience, it invites you to consider how following Christ shapes your identity, character, responsibilities, relationships, and purpose.
The journey unfolds through four movements:
Marked — Who made me? Begin with the One who created you. Explore what it means to belong to God and find your identity and worth in Him.
Formed — Who is He making me? Consider how God shapes your character, desires, and habits. Reflect on the areas where you need to grow and respond to His work with humility and obedience.
Made — What am I made for? Examine your calling and the responsibilities God has placed before you. Consider how your gifts, work, relationships, and opportunities can become places of faithful service.
Expected — What mark am I leaving on others? Turn your attention toward your influence. Consider the example you set, the people you serve, and the opportunities you have to help others know and follow Jesus.
Why four months? Faithful character develops through repeated choices. This pace gives you time to think carefully about Scripture, bring real concerns before God, follow through on what He shows you, and return to those lessons as you grow. It makes room for reflection to become action and for daily obedience to shape everyday life.
There are six journaling days each week, with Scripture, guided reflection, space for prayers and concerns, and a practical next step. Each day invites you to ask: What has God shown me that I need to follow through with?
Sunday is intentionally reserved for worship, hearing God’s Word preached, serving, resting, and gathering with your church family. Following Jesus reaches beyond the page into how you live among His people and serve those around you.
Use the journal during personal devotions, alongside a mentor, or with a men’s discipleship group. Whether you are beginning a consistent practice or renewing an established one, these pages offer room to listen honestly and respond faithfully.
One day, one decision, one faithful step at a time.
