ALL THE LIGHTS. NONE OF THE POWER.
You can untangle every strand, replace every burned-out bulb, and decorate the whole house. But if the lights aren't connected to a source of power, they're still just lights.
That's the Christmas frustration behind this design: a woman surrounded by decorations and a string of lights that won't shine. It's funny because we've all been there. Yet there's something more behind the joke.
Jesus told His disciples, “Apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). He was talking about abiding in Him—the source of spiritual life and fruitfulness. We can fill our calendars, homes, and holidays with good things, but activity isn't the same as connection.
Christmas celebrates the coming of Jesus Christ, not simply the glow of the decorations. The lights can remind us of Him, but they can never replace Him.
Conversation starter: What happens when we have all the decorations of Christmas but lose sight of the One we're celebrating?
Wear your faith. Start a conversation. Grow the kingdom.
