THE REAL REASON FOR THE SEASON
Every Christmas, we hear about Santa's naughty and nice lists. It's a familiar part of the season: who's been good, who's been bad, and who's getting a present?
This design takes that familiar picture and asks a more important question. If getting the greatest gift depended on being good enough, where would any of us stand?
Romans 3:10 says, “None is righteous, no, not one.” The Bible doesn't tell us to earn God's love by making the nice list. It tells us that we need a Savior—and that God has graciously provided one in Jesus Christ.
That's the real reason for the season. Christmas isn't the celebration of how good we've been. It's the celebration of how good God has been to us.
So when someone smiles at the Santa scene, there's an opportunity to talk about a gift we could never earn and a Savior who came because we needed Him.
Conversation starter: If Christmas gifts were based on who's been good enough, would any of us make the nice list?
